About psychotherapy & counselling

The most important aspect of psychotherapy and counselling is the development of a trusting and safe therapeutic relationship, in which client and therapist are connected in a reflexive process to explore the inner and outer worlds that form the client's identity, in order to understand what has to be changed to re-create a more positive self.

Born and raised in Brazil, I'm a post graduate of London's Regents College, qualified as a psychologist, psychotherapist and counsellor.

I am an integrative psychotherapist, which means that I integrate different approaches of psychotherapy and counselling and employ them dynamically, in order to facilitate the client's understanding of their problems. I endeavour to work in a non judgemental, compassionate and strictly confidential way, respecting your uniqueness and needs. Sessions can be carried out either in English or Portuguese. The choice is yours.

I have been working for over five years - in both the private and national health sector - during which time I have encountered a wide range of issues such as, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, lack of motivation, inferiority complex, self image problems, self-harming, addiction, panic attacks, physical, emotional or sexual abuse, anger, eating disorders, illness, loss and bereavement, attachment problems, relationships difficulties and sleeping disorder.

I work face to face and I also provide telephone therapy and email therapy. These advanced ways of working with people are empowering, yet cost effective and an extra facility for those who live anywhere in the UK.

Therapy may be short or long term, the decision is dependent on an initial assessment with the client. Sessions are weekly, unless agreed otherwise, and the duration is 50 minutes.
